DEBT RECOVERIES OFFICERS (2)

JOB SUMMARY

To assist the Debt Recoveries Manager in managing the Bank’s non-performing loans portfolio in the Debt Recoveries Unit of the Bank.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To undertake debt recoveries activities under the supervision of the

Debt Recoveries Manager as follows:

• Manage a portfolio of non-performing projects that are 90+days delinquent:
• Contact Borrowers on a regular basis to assess changes in financial circumstances that may lead to an event of default;
• Negotiate payment schedules/plans that will suit the Borrower’s current financial situation and seek Management approval;
• Prepare Demand Notices to the Borrower’s Directors and Shareholders;
• Assist in preparation of the status report on loans recoveries;
• Transfer files that require legal intervention to Legal Department for further action;
• Coordinate newspaper advertisements for the repossessed property ;
• Take Minutes of the Recoveries Committee Meetings;
• Attend Bid opening for recovered properties;
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Degree in Law from a reputable University,
• An advocate of the High Court of Zambia,
• Member of the Law Association of Zambia,
• At least Two years of hands-on practical experience in a financial institution,
• Must have experience in portfolio monitoring,
• Knowledge of Corporate Governance Practices and Compliance,
• An understanding of debt management in a development financial institution is desirable.
