JUDICIAL COMPLAINTS COMMISSION

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) is a statutory body established pursuant to Article 236 (1) of the Constitution, Chapter 1 of the Laws of Zambia. The Commission is inter alia mandated to enforce the Code of Conduct for judges and judicial officers and ensure that judges and judicial officers are accountable to the people in the performance of their functions. Members of the Commission are appointed by the President subject to ratification by the National Assembly. The Secretary to the Commission is also appointed by the President.

The Commission receives grants from the Government to enable it to perform its statutory duties. The Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the position of:

LEGAL OFFICER (1)

Reports to: Secretary to the Commission

Location: Lusaka

Main Duties

  • Undertakes thorough research in order to facilitate informed decision making
  • Provides timely legal documentation in order to facilitate investigations
  • Prepares legal opinions for Members of the Commission
  • Maintains an accurate up-to-date database of reported complaints in order to facilitate quick and easy retrieval of information

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Candidate must be Zambian of the minimum age of 25 years
  •  Degree in Law
  •  Current Practising Certificate
  •  Three (3) years post admission experience
  •  Excellent communication skills as the job entail report writing
