Lubambe Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambian Copperbelt and consists of a large–scale mining license covering an area of approximately 228 square kilometres.

Completed and commissioned in 2012, Lubambe is an underground operation supported by a shaft and decline access with a 2.5 million tonne per annum capacity ore concentrator. The mine’s current depth is 450meters producing a high-grade copper concentrate which is then treated at Zambian smelters.

The mine currently employs 1, 125 direct employees, a further 800 contractors. It places the highest priority on safety with a world class safety system.

Supporting local communities and suppliers is a key business focus of the mine.

EMR Capital owns an 80% controlling interest in Lubambe while ZCCM-IH owns 20%.

The Mine seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:

SECURITY OFFICER (x2)

This position reports to the Senior Security Officer.

Core Purpose of the Position

To provide and deliver efficient and quality security by protecting company property, employees, visitors and contractor employees.

Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):

• Provide physical means of protecting staff and property, guarding against thefts, accidents and intruders.
• Provide preliminary investigations of all crimes, or losses incurred by the Company, Staff and Clients.
• Maintain all the key registers properly and secure the keys in a designated safe place.
• Conduct internal patrols during the tenure of duty and allocate duties to hired security guards ensuring that the guards are aware of their post and site instructions.
• Ensure that the search of baggage of employees, visitors and motor vehicles is carried out effectively.
• Maintain the visitors register properly.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

• Grade Twelve with five O’ levels which must include English.
• Relevant tertiary academic qualification.
• At least 5 years’ experience in handling security matters.
• Must be Computer literate and possess a driver’s licence.
• Must show appreciation of Zambian Laws.
• Zambia Police /Mine Police Training.
• Must not be over 50 years old.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
