DUMP TRUCK OPERATOR

The Company seeks the services of qualified Dump Truck Operators to drive underground dump trucks from various work areas to designated tipping points, and remuck bays.

Duties will, among others, include:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the dump truck
• Safe and efficient operation of the dump truck.
• Inspect work areas and make safe prior to entry and ensure that ventilation/other safety requirements are in compliance with Mining Regulations and domestic safety regulations.
• Carry out pre-shift checks on the truck, rectify minor defects and report major ones to maintenance personnel.
• Liaise with maintenance personnel and counterparts on tramming levels
• Understand and follow instructions from his superiors as to required work areas
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbances.
• Locate works area and plan truck route/other sectional activities
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
• Drive the health, safety, and environmental standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• Grade 12
• Proof of a driving permit required
• Minimum 2 years post qualification
• In possession of valid all mining operations blasting license
