Women for Change (WfC) is a Gender-focused Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Field Animator for “Norm Change through Economic Empowerment of Women (NCEEW) Project” in Mansa and Chifunabuli Districts of Luapula Province. The Animator will be expected to work under the supervision of WfC Programmes, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in implementing the NCEEW Project funded by the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
Job Station: Lusaka
Major responsibilities:
1) Devise the elements of gender mainstreaming and ensure that planned activities have gender dimensions included;
2) Identify development needs of the communities and facilitate group development and leadership programmes using Participatory Education Methodologies to ensure equal participation by both women/girls men/boys, youth and Persons with Disabilities;
3) Co-ordinate programmes of the Organization in the two districts of operation;
4) Work closely with communities to form community structures for efficient and effective implementation of activities;
5) Facilitate community capacity building to effectively deal with gender issues and concerns;
6) Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports;
7) Document and disseminate best practices to promote quality learning;
8) Empower and support collective action by communities to improve their lives and their environment.
9) Empower women, men, youth and persons with disabilities with entrepreneurial and decision making skills in order to increase access to and control over productive economic resources;
10) Participate in planning, monitoring and reviewing of performance plans;
11) Supporting communities to develop new relationships with other stakeholders;
12) Serve as a link between communities, partners and the Organization.
Minimum Education Qualification:
- Bachelor`s degree in social science or any other related academic qualifications.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years continuous traceable experience in working with rural communities.
- Experience in community engagement including working with traditional leaders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Gender Analysis and Participatory Methodologies
- Good Facilitation Skills
- Research and Analysis of data
- Computer Literate
- Excellent Communication Skills both oral and written
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other staff, partners and community
- Must be a team player, self-motivated and organized
- Valid motor vehicle driving license with experience of driving in rough terrain.
