DIRECTOR HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION

Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MVVSC) is the provider of water and sewerage services in Chingolam Mufulira and Chililabombwe. The Company is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, energetic and versatile individual to fill the position of Director Human Resources and Administration.

Job Purpose:

The job holder will provide expert professional advice and support to the office of the Managing Director and the Board on all aspects of people management and will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of effective human resource Strategies, policies, procedures and practices, which support the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives,
  • Ensure that administrative/support system and structures are working effectively—in terms of achieving the short, medium and long term objectives of the Company, as well as being cost effective.

Principal Accountabilities

The main responsibilities for the job holder will include:

  • Provision of strategic advice in all matters of human resource management, industrial/employee relations, performance management, compensation and reward system, and institutional development.
  • Working closely with Senior and Line Managers in developing and implementing value adding human resource strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the achievement of MWSCs business objectives by planning and ensuring efficient and effective delivery and evaluation Of training and development programmes, and provides advice on training and development aimed at improving the competence of Company staff.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of good industrial relations to promote industrial harmony and high productivity in the Company.
  • Ensuring competitive recruitment and selection of staff, effective retention initiatives and succession planning to achieve the Company’s business objectives.
  • Implementation and monitoring a Performance Management System that focuses on increasing the effectiveness of MWSC, by improving, recognizing and rewarding good employee performances
  • Implementation of HIV/AIDS and wellness policies and programmes aimed at mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS in the Company.
  • Implementation of compensation policy and programmest hat attract, motivate and retain the caliber of staff required for the achievement of Company Objectives.
  • Ensuring that adequate security services are provided for all Company installations, equipment and staff.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources Of any other Social Sciences
  • Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management would be an added advantage.
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIH RM)
  • Relevant working experience — minimum 10 years in a reputable organization, 5 of which must be at senior
