Job Title: GRADING ASSESSORS

 

ZAMBIA TOURISM AGENCY

RECRUITMENT OF PART-TIME GRADING ASSESSORS

The, formerly Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) was established through the Tourism and Hospitality Act No. 13 of 2015 with the repealing of Zambia Tourism Board Act No. 24 of 2007. The 2015 Act mandates ZTA to effectively market and promote Zambia as a tourism and travel destination of choice and to regulate the tourism industry.

ZTA’s New mandate to regulate the tourism industry is in order to ensure compliance with set standards through licensing of tourism enterprises, classification and grading of accommodation establishments.

In order to effectively carry out the classification and grading function, ZTA seeks to recruit and train part-time Assessors who will be exposed to appropriate training.

Listed Below are the minimum requirements:

  • Must be a Zambian or Permanent Resident;
  • In possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or equivalent;
  • Six (6) years working experience in the tourism and hospitality sector with 4 years at middle management level;
  • Or holders of Diploma in tourism and hospitality field with 10 years’ experience at middle management level or higher.
  •  No criminal Record;
  • Able to understand and interpret the provisions of the Tourism and Hospitality Act No. 13 of 2015 and the Statutory Instrument (SI) on Standards;
  • Good knowledge of the accommodation sector
  • Good Report writing skills are a must – able to write technical and analytical reports;
  • Very good communication skills – able to communicate effectively in English;
  • Must be a committed team player;
  • Willing to work long hours;
  • Should be prepared to travel extensively to any part of the country;
  • Preference will be given to those not in full-time employment;
  • Possession of a hotel practicing certificate will be an added advantage;
  • Membership to the hospitality professional body (Institute of Hospitality) will also be an added advantage.
