Mopani Copper Mine Plc has implemented a competency based engineering apprenticeship program at its state-of-the-art Training Centre. Special emphasis is given to the training and development of apprentices to artisan levels that will be compatible with international artisans’ standards in the following trades:

Electrical, Auto-Electrical, Heavy Equipment Repair, Mechanical Fitting, Metal Fabrication and Rigging and Instrumentation

The training is conducted at the Mopani Central Training Centre (MCTC) situated at their Mufulira site. The apprenticeship programme will be for a period of 2 1/2 years.

Apprentices who successfully complete the Apprenticeship programme will be certified as Crafts tradesmen by TEVETA.

Minimum Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 certificate.
  • Aged between 18 years and 35 years
  • Valid Pneumoconiosis certificate (BI/B6)
  • Medical Report of fitness from a Government Hospital
