Outreach and Research Officer: BBC Media Action
BBC Media Action is the international development charity of the BBC. We are currently looking to recruit for multiple positions for two projects, one funded by SIDA focusing on media development, elections and local media partners’ news/current affairs, and one funded by the EU which is focused on media development, improved election coverage, and sector support to media monitoring. Please note that all positions are based in Lusaka with extensive travel within Zambia. The appointment is dependent on confirmation of funding.
OUTREACH AND RESEARCH OFFICER (Election focused. 15-month contract): A minimum of 3 years of work experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research, preferably in either the social sector, media or NGO sector. Proven track record of designing research tools and questionnaires, and managing focus group discussions and in-depth interviews essential. Candidates with experience in researching media and media content analysis will be preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related field. Good analytical skills and report writing experience are essential requirements. Candidates must be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision. A valid driving license is essential.
