Pact Zambia Latest Job Vacancy: Consultancy For Adolescent Friendly Health Services


Overview

USAID/Zambia awarded five years Cooperative Agreement to Pact Zambia to implement Zambia Community HIV Prevention Project (USAID/Z-CHPP) with the aim of accelerating progress towards Zambia’s goal of reducing new HIV infections by increasing adoption of high impact HIV services and protective behaviors with key focus on priority populations such as adolescent girls and young women. To achieve this, USAID/Z-CHPP is working with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and seven other organizations such as Young Women Christian Association (YWCA), Plan International and Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB). USAID/Z -CHPP is implementing DREAMS a PEPFAR initiative which seeks to address direct and indirect drivers of HIV infection among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged (10-24 years). DREAMS stand for Determined, Resilient, AIDS-free, Mentored, Safe.

Objectives 

  • To strengthen the capacity of DREAMS Centre staff to provide adolescent-friendly SRH services
  •  To develop a standard adolescent friendly service provision package for DREAMS Centre
  • To train participants in adolescent friendly service provision strategies
  • Share best practices for increased access to HIV and SRH service uptake by adolescent girls and young women

USAID Z-CHPP seeks the services of a consultant to train volunteers in the provision of Adolescent Friendly Reproductive Health Services. The consultant is expected to fulfill the following SOW;

  • Develop a standard adolescent friendly health service package to be used in the DREAMS centers
  • Orientation on how to handle youth related SRH and HIV related challenges in programming
  • Designing community level youth-friendly health services
  • How to turn DREAMS Centre into adolescent friendly service provision environment
  • Share best practices and evidence-based youth-friendly health service interventions/programs
  • Demand creation for high impact services
  • Values and attitude clarification for participants to enable them to provide services impartially to adolescent girls and young women

Deliverables

  • Provide a training report
  •  Conduct practical lessons in arranged DREAMS Centre/site
  •  Completed adolescent friendly service provision package
  •  Show knowledge change of participants through pre and post survey results

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or Nursing
  • Experience in project management of HIV and adolescent health projects
  • Proven experience working with NGOs
  • Experience providing youth and adolescent-friendly trainings
