An opportunity exists for a talented individual who wishes to develop a career in this exciting industry as a Local Procurement Specialist reporting to the Procurement Manager.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND OUTPUT

  • Managing the operational and tactical procurement of directs and indirect goods and services categories in accordance with Parmalat procurement strategy, as well as applicable policies, procedures and specifications.
  • Acting as the point of contact between country procurement management, support functions and operations.
  • Driving the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in the country, in line with regional and global strategies.
  • Identifying saving opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at all operational levels
  • Negotiating in close coordination with head of procurement management for local volumes, processes, quality levels and prices
  • Managing and developing one or more buyers where required
  • Managing all inventory replenishment Purchase Orders (PO’s)
  • Driving inventory optimal ordering strategies and re-order levels and stock holding levels to the Parmalat ways of working.
  • Identify local saving opportunities and update in procurement savings ERP (LPS)
  • Ensuring global & local policies and procedures are conveyed to end users in the Procurement of Directs and Indirect goods and services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Business/Economics/Marketing or related field
  • 5 years purchasing experience preferably in a Manufacturing or FMCG industrial sector.
  • CIPS membership or equivalent
  • Holder of clean Driver’s Licence

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Exposure to working in a Multinational company
  • FMCG experience an advantage
  • InforLx or similar system experience an advantage
  • People and organizational development including performance and talent management strategies to support business improvement
  • Ability to coach and implement feedback processes
  • Ability to identify the change management aspects of projects/initiatives
  • Ability to understand the general financial sustainability, to identify the appropriate cost of capital and the appropriate capital structure were applicable
