In the last several years, remarkable progress has been made in fighting Malaria. Advancements in prevention and treatment have resulted in marked reductions in illness and death. Now it is time to strive for a more ambitious target—to end malaria illness and deaths in Africa altogether. Eliminating malaria is achievable using existing tools and a focused strategy, and the Malaria Control and Elimination Partnership in Africa (MACEPA), a program at PATH, is working with its national partners in Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal and Zambia to chart the way forward.

We seek to recruit a Temporary Program Assistant for a period of three months to provide support to the MACEPA project in Zambia. Working closely with MACEPA Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative, financial and operational support to the MACEPA project, submit payment requests to Finance and make copies for MACEPA file in the case of part-payments, arrange deposit of cheques and send scanned deposit slips to districts, Print out invoices received from districts and attach supporting documents.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in the analysis of quotations received from DMO and PMO staff.
• Arrange deposit of cheques and send scanned deposit slips to districts.
• Print out invoices received from districts and attach supporting documents.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, and scanning.
• Submit payment requests to Finance and make copies for MACEPA file in the case of part-payments.

Required Skills

• Familiar with procurement and finance.
• Strong organizational, logistics and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and diplomatic manner.
• Strong analytical skills and strong planning, organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of financial and contractual processes.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
• Proficient in working with computer software.
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills in English.

Required Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Business related field, minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, experience working with international organizations a plus, Experience working in procurement is a plus.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Zambia.
