1. Overview
1.1. Background

PIN is currently opening a new office in the Western Province (in Mongu) focusing on a multi-sectoral approach (agriculture, energy, nutrition, food security, WASH, saving groups, maternal and child health).

1.2. Description of the Role

PIN is currently looking for preferably a female candidate for the position of the Nutrition and Health Project Officer/Field Officer.
Main responsibilities:
Project support and management:
- Responsible for the direct implementation of the project activities aiming at achieving the project results and indicators and fulfilling the contractual obligations (planning, implementation, follow up)
- Project activities: mobilization of communities, managing an awareness-raising program, improving referral system, capacity building of health workers and health volunteers, improvement of health service delivery
- Continuous improvement of the project quality and relevance
- M&E and data collection, in line with PIN’s requirements
- Compliance with PIN´s sectorial guidelines and internal procedures
- Stakeholder mobilization: Will be responsible for organizing local stakeholders in the areas where they are stationed to take part in the project programmes. S/he will mobilize/interact with Community & key local stakeholders, form groups
- Focal Point Person for Behaviour Change Communication: will provide support to the development and adoption of key behaviour change approaches.
Prepare Reports: The Project Officer will write reports on the progress of the project at community level. S/he will keep record of the community activities of the project
Cooperation: Working closely with all PIN departments

1.2 Contractual Terms
- Duration: Short term Contract up to 31st August 2018 with possible extension dependent on funding
- Salary: Dependent on experience
- Working Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week.
- Leave: 24 days per annum (2 days per month).
- The position is based in Mongu, Western Province, Zambia with extensive travel to communities in Kalabo District
2. Person Specific Requirements
- Diploma (or a degree) in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Sciences, Nursing, Midwifery or other relevant fields
- At least two (2) years of experience in working on health (esp primary care) and nutrition programs in rural communities
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Silozi
- Experience of working for an international non-government organization is an advantage
- Strong communication, interpersonal and representational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong networking and advocacy skills
- Experience in working with local key stakeholders
- Understanding of and experience in project management cycle is beneficial
- Motorbike riding with valid class “A” licence (strong advantage)
