Pharmacist Job In Zambia: Headhunters
Our client is looking to recruit two highly ambitious people as pharmacists. They will be expected to serve patients by preparing medications and monitoring patient drug therapies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide advices on selection of Over-The-Counter medications to treat common illnesses such as flu, cold sores, or headaches
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters
- Compound medications for external or internal use
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
- Proper management of patient records and pharmacy files
- Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Removing out-dated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory
- Plan, implement, or maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, or labelling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal
- Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
- Refer patients to other health professionals or agencies when appropriate
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of patients on drug therapies.
- Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications/ Competencies
- Registered with the Health professional Council of Zambia [hpcz] (verification will be made)
- Minimum: Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent For Internationals)
- 3 years’ work experience
- Should possess a Permanent Practicing Licence (Licence should be recent)
- Familiarity with computers and others office equipment
