Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) Job: Outreach Team Leader


Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ), an affiliate of Marie Stopes International, is a market focused, result oriented non-governmental organization. We develop efficient, effective and sustainable family planning and reproductive health programs, with particular emphasis on the lower income and disadvantaged communities in Zimbabwe. PSZ strives to contribute significantly to improved access to quality family planning services and thus it is crucial that personnel are passionate and self-driven.
The incumbent will report directly to the Outreach Service Manager and will be responsible for the following among other duties: Building, maintaining, supervising and motivating an effective team;     Ensuring that clinical standards are adhered to as well as provision of quality service at all times;  Ensuring the outreach team has adequate stocks, equipment and staff for quality service delivery;  Representing PSZ at provincial and district stakeholder meetings;  Augmenting service provision -primary health care, family planning, STIs, HIV and other SRH services;  Preparation and timeous submission of required period reports;  Marketing PSZ and its services in the area of operation;  Providing consultation, counseling of clients and advice on various methods of Family Planning to enable the client to make an informed decision;  Preparing monthly schedules for the team and establishing partnerships with key stakeholders;  Effective mobilization for the uptake of services with overall support from the Outreach Service Manager;  Communicating regularly with the Outreach Service Manager;  Analysing outreach sites and  identification of opportunities and areas that need to be piloted, eliminated or expanded;  Dispensing of authorised drugs to clients.

Qualifications and experience

  • BSc In Nursing with a post graduate qualification in midwifery;
  • Diploma in community nursing; Forensic License (M.C.A.Z);
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience, 2 of which must be in a supervisory position;
  • Certificate in Family Planning Training; Computer Literacy
