Procurement Officer job Vacancy in Zambia


Zambezi River Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Procurement Officer to be based Head Office, Lusaka, Zambia

Job Purpose

To provide procurement and logistics services which meet the requirements of the organisation in a timely and cost effective manner.
Under the supervision of the Manager – Procurement, the procurement officer will carry out the following

Key Responsibilities;

• Analyse authorised requisition from user departments, develop specifications, prepare and issue request for Quotations/Invitation to bids/Request for proposals documents.
• Identify sources to meet specification using local and international sources.
• Evaluate tender taking into consideration relevant criteria and ability to comply with terms and conditions
• Negotiate contrite in preparation for awards
• Prepare purchase order, contracts and Service level agreement
• Ensure that goods and services are delivered within contractual lead times
• Coordinate clearing of shipments with customs at ports of entry and exit

Qualifications and experience

• Full CIPS/Diploma in Purchase and supply or equivalent
• Membership of an Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS/CIPS)
• 3 years of relevant experience
