The Electoral Commission of Zambia seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill in the position of Procurement Officer

Purpose of the Job
To procure goods, work and service ensuring value for money in compliance with Commission policy

Reporting Accountancy
Reporting to: The Head- Procurement

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
• Post – Graduate Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplying (MCIPS)
• Valid membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supplying(MZIPS)
• Three(3)years post qualifying relevant experience in Procurement

Key Responsibilities
• Conducts procurements as per annual procurement plan
• Prepare draft tender documents for the procurement of goods and services
• Disseminates tenders to prospective suppliers of goods and services and receive tenders
• Manages tender evaluations and communication of procurement decision to relevant stakeholders such as user department and suppliers
• Prepares evaluation templates that will ensure the objectives evaluation of bids on the basis of price quality and delivery and undertakes technical evaluations
• Drafts committee papers for the procurement committee
• Responds to customer and suppliers inquiries
• Negotiates with approved supplier to obtain the most competitive price, quality and delivery
• Follows up the supply of goods and services as per contract
• Prepares inputs for contracts
• Maintains records of suppliers and performance
• Surveys the market for the prices and delivery conditions

• Computer literate
• Be able to work with minimum supervision
