IMPACT HUB LUSAKA

Impact Hub Lusaka (IHL) is part of the world’s largest network focused on building entrepreneurial communities for impact at scale. It is home to the innovators, the dreamers and the entrepreneurs who are creating tangible solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. IHL through the support of its partners are embarking on a Financial Literacy 3-year program targeting youths in TEVET Institutions called Financial Education for Economic Transformation (FEET)- Out of School TEVET Youths. This program, therefore, seeks to conduct financial education among youths in Zambia through provision of literacy and easy access. It aims at imparting knowledge to enable financial planning, inculcate saving habits and improve the understanding of financial products leading to effective use of financial services by the common youth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1.0 JOB IDENTIFICATION

1.1 Job Title: Project Assistant

1.2 Reports to: Project Manager

1.3 Subordinates: Administrative Assistant

2.0 PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the project assistant is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties:

(i)  Undertakes selection, creation, revise, and adapt educational material to meet youths’ varying needs, abilities, and interests.

(ii)  Undertake research and gathering of information on financial literacy, best practices to inform financial education methods;

(iii)  Undertake preparation of training sessions including determining and adapting to the best practice for specific youth groups;

(iv)  Undertake development and evaluation of metrics of FEET Project to inform improvements and provide reports to management upon request.;

(v)  Support maintenance of relationships with project partners to effectively meet the needs of the youth.

(vi)  Undertake promotion of financial service awareness among the youths;

(vii)  Undertake promotion of an entrepreneurial and saving culture among youths;

(viii)  Undertake effective capacity building of financial education training of trainers in the TEVET sector;

(ix)  Undertake the provision of financial education in order to improve youth understanding of financial products and concepts;

(x)  Undertake effective utilization of financial and other resources in order to meet the objectives of the project;

(xi)  Undertakes monitoring and evaluation of project implementation in order to track performance and facilitate implementation of appropriate intervention;

(xii)  To prepare correspondence, reports, email, etc. from general instructions and on own initiative;

(xiii)  To make arrangements for meetings with stakeholders and coordinate meetings organized by the Project.

3.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

(i)  Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 “O” levels, credits or better including English and Mathematics;

(ii)  Minimum degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce;

(iii)  Member of a relevant professional body; and

(iv)  Not less than five (5) years relevant experience

(v)  Previous financial services experience or knowledge preferred
