REPSSI (Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative) is an award-winning and leading African psychosocial support organisation, REPSSl’s vision is that all girls, boys and youth enjoy psychosocial and mental wellbeing. The organisation offers technical support in mainstreaming psychosocial support into programmes and services for girls, boys and youth in East and Southern Africa. REPSSl’s interventions have reached Over 2.4 million children and adolescents in East and Southern Africa with psychosocial support and mental health programmes and services.

REPSSI is implementing a three-year project dubbed Restoring Children and Young People’s Lost Aspiration, Integrity and Well-being (ReCLAlM). The project implemented eastern and southern province aims at providing mental health support to children and young people at an early stage so that they are aware of their mental health and tan build resilience as they grow and develop. The organisation, therefore, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following position:

PROJECT COORDINATOR

The Project Coordinator-Mental Health will oversee the development and delivery’ of the ReCLAlM project. The core responsibilities will include but not limited to designers delivering assuring quality and innovative project to target, to time and to budget, and managing district and community-based implementers.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide quality project management; to target, to time and to budget
  • Leading in project planning implementation and including evaluation
  • Identify the scope the programme goals and deliverables
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with partners at various levels of project implementation
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for effective psychosocial and mental health service delivery
  • Coordinate the ReCLAlM project teams to achieve outcomes that promoted psychosocial and mental wellbeing of the children and young people
  • Contribute in the development of resource mobilization strategies and work plans
  • Lead in implementing strategic programmatic partnerships and liaison
  • Programme reporting and ensuring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mental Health, psychology, sociology, anthropology, or any other social sciences.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience of coordinating successful psychosocial and mental health projects aimed at targeting children and young people
  • Experience in working with projects in which volunteers play a key role
  • Knowledge of psychosocial and mental health issues and support services
  • Experience in collecting and collating data for outcome measurement
  • Highly competent in delivering trainings
  • Experience in advocacy
