Job Title: Project Director
Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of policy and skills training activities
  • Manage the field staff in accordance with counterpart and donor policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Mentor and provide support for the professional development of project staff
  • Oversee all administrative, contracting, hiring, recruitment, financial, and logistical aspects of the program
  • Coordinate activities between the field and counterpart headquarters
  • Ensure the highest quality of project monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and communications
  • Assume financial accountability and ensure successful implementation of the program
  • Ensure compliance with Counterpart and DOL rules and regulations, particularly with respect to financial management
  • Serve as primary liaison to DOL, local and national government authorities, local organizations, and private sector

Qualifications

  • A university degree in a relevant field
  • Five years experience in project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of cooperative agreements and/or contracts (including meeting deadlines, achieving targets, and overseeing the preparation and submission of required reports), preferably in Zambia
  • Experience establishing and maintaining systems for projects operations
  • Ability to maintain working relationships with all project stakeholders, including public, private, and civil society partners and effectively build partnerships among them
  • Experience in a leadership role in implementing projects relevant to child labor, gender equality, youth development, or economic growth
  • Proven success in facilitating meetings among a wide range of stakeholders, with the ability to align numerous sets of interests, identify common goals, develop agreed-upon next steps and deliverables, define and identify roles and responsibilities, and hold stakeholders accountable
  • Fluent in English
  • Provide vision, leadership, strategic management, and oversight of child labor prevention program
