ZCCM-IH is an investment Holdings in which the Government of the Republic of Zambia holds the majority shares while others are held by private investors. The company has investments in the privatized mining companies on the Copperbelt, North-Western and Southern Provinces of Zambia as well as in other sectors of the economy. The mission of the company is to”to maximize shareholders value with due regard to the interests at of all stakeholders”
In order to achieve this mission, the company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who are innovative energetic and performance driven to fill the following position

Public Relations Manager

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Purpose

To project a positive image of ZCCM-IH to shareholders, investors and the public and present a consistently applied investment message to stakeholders on behalf of the company and monitor and present to management the opinions of stakeholders in order to improve communication between parties.

Principal accountabilities

• Draft speeches for the Chief Executive Officer
• Manage ZCCM-IH’s reputation with the public in general and other stakeholders;
• Develop PR strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to improve public perception of ZCCM-IH;
• Help prepare and publish newsletters and other company literature;
• Spearhead the creation of company videos;
• Release promotion literature about new investments;
• Maintain effective working relationships with Government official and media representatives; Manage communications budgets;
• In-charge of the company’s newsletter, in-charging of the trade fair/shows. Local and international

Qualifications and experience

• Grade 12 certificate;
• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications; Public relations or any relevant field of study;
• Masters degree in a Communications, Media related field
• Qualifications in a Finance related course is an added advantage
• Professional membership with relevant bodies in Public relations

Minimum relevant pre-Job experience

• 4 years’ experience in a similar position
• Working experience in the Mining sector will be added advantage

Skills specifications

• Excellent written and verbal skills and computer literate
• Media skills; knowledge in use of media equipment and photography
