Regional Sales Lead – Kasama


Description

 Purpose

  • To lead and develop a high performance sales team
  • To support, coach and participate as necessary in building customer relationships
  • To contribute to the development of sales campaigns and lead implementation
  • To achieve assigned geographic sales and profit targets
  • Responsible for managing all sales activities within assigned geographic area
  • May contribute to and direct the implementation of the sales strategy to optimize overall sales volume and market share

Accountabilities

  • Ensure sales team effectiveness: hiring, capability building, performance management, motivation
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Support pricing plans; manage distributor rebates
  • May implement customer incentive plans
  • Implement sales campaigns
  • Contribute to customer segmentation data and campaign plans
  • Provide information to crop marketing
  • Ensure that all relevant Syngenta policies are well understood and implemented by the sales team and where necessary customers
  • Defend and promote the image of Syngenta, represent the company in a professional way.
  • Assists with the quota setting process of direct reports, evaluates results throughout the year to ensure attainment of overall revenue budget
  • May consolidate, review and evaluate information regarding market trends, product needs and competitive environment
  • Implements the sales strategy within assigned geographical area or channel.
  • Implements initiatives that secure sales of defined products.
  • Builds and fosters a team culture that values, recognizes and generates a business oriented, customer focused organization
  • Depending on coverage model complexity, may negotiate with channel partners in the territory regarding contract terms and conditions, may manage channel relationships
  • May be involved with channel planning and negotiation
  • Contributes to forecasting and accuracy of sales volume
Qualifications

 Experience required

  • Latest concepts in strategy development and competitive analysis
  • Financial modeling know-how
  • Leading analysis and synthesis efforts of complex business information and data resulting in recommendations regarding strategic action
  • Project management techniques

Critical knowledge

  • MBA or equivalent experience
  • 8 years experience in an international environment
  • Project management experience required – commercial experience or a marketing and sales background is a plus
  • Experience in similar roles in other industries and in leading multi- national project teams
