Context
Restless Development is the leading youth-led development agency. We have been supporting youth-focused
programming in Zimbabwe for 30 years. Through placing young people at the forefront of the development
process, in the response to HIV and AIDS, in tackling youth exclusion and increasing the voice of young
people within the development context as well as increasing young people’s access to livelihood
opportunities, Restless Development is becoming increasingly recognised both Nationally and Internationally. Restless Development Zimbabwe operates a number of programmes which sees trained young people
placed in schools, universities and communities working with their fellow youth to increase knowledge on key
issues and to build young people’s life skills to enable them to make positive changes to their behaviour.
Restless Development Zimbabwe is taking up a national presence, encompassing new areas such as
livelihoods as well as developing and fulfilling an organisational advocacy agenda whilst ensuring quality and
effectiveness at all levels. Importantly, Restless Development Zimbabwe is placing priority on maintaining
and implementing Management for Impact systems to ensure programme quality underpins all programme

We are currently seeking a talented Research Monitoring and Evaluation Manager as an interim cover for 5
months only. This is an interim role and there is no possibility of extension after this period. The successful candidate
will oversee our research, monitoring and evaluation activities for five months as well as managing staff under this
unit. The successful candidate will be a member of the management committee.
Specific Objectives for this interim role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the following responsibilities are managed during
this period
1. Human resource management
- Manage an assistant monitoring and evaluation coordinator and any other staff in the unit.
- Training and building the capacity of the Assistant monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
- Training programme staff in monitoring and evaluation
2. Managing evaluations
- With remote and minimum support from the current Manager ensure a Mid Term Report for
our EU programme is completed - Support the End of programme evaluation for our Comic Relief programme
- Ensure all deliverables are completed by agreed time
3. Coordinate the development of appropriate M&E systems, indicators and tools across all
programmes
- Ensure all donors have specific donor reporting templates
- Ensure staff report accurately and on time
- Compile Restless Developments monthly and quarterly reports
- Manage Restless Development Databases
4. Support other M&E unit related responsibilities
- Ensure that other M&E related responsibilities are managed and completed on time
- Support M&E related training to volunteers as well as supporting any volunteer debrief
requirements as needed
