The Council of Mulungushi University is inviting qualified and sufficiently motivated individuals to apply for the following position:

Resident Engineer

Job Purpose: The Resident Engineer superintends overall engineering, maintenance, construction, and rehabilitation works in the University in that regard she/he is responsible for all maintenance in the University as well as monitoring and supervision of contractors hired by the University.

The position is answerable to the Registrar and is the principal advisor to Management on infrastructure development and maintenance matters, The Resident Engineer presides over the following sections in the University. General Maintenance, Electrical, Water Works, Transport, and Parks and Gardens.

Qualifications:

• Glade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) Credits or better
• A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
• A Masters degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage
• At least ten (10) years practical experience in Civil Engineering with demonstrable capacity to supervise civil works
• Computer literate
• Must be a fully paid up member of the Engineers Institute of Zambia (EIZ) and with a valid Practicing License
