The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) was established through an Act of Parliament; the Road Traffic Act No. 11 of 2002. RTSA has the mandate to implement Government policy on road safety and transport management. The following vacancies now exist for suitably qualified and experienced persons.

Purpose of the job

To assess and identify the potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security and financial prosperity of their organisation.

Duties and Responsibility

  1. Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the Agency;
  2. Risk assessment, which involves analyzing risks as well  as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business;
  3. Risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the Agency such as costs, legal requirements and Safety factors, and evaluating the Agency’s previous handling of risks;
  4. Establishing and quantifying the Agency’s risk appetite i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to
    accept;
  5. Preparing risk reports in an appropriate way to all Heads of Departments to ensure they are aware of  risks relevant to their parts of business and to individuals to understand their accountability for
    individual risks;
  6. Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders;
  7. Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization

Reporting

  1. The job holder reports to the Head Risk Management.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade twelve (12) Certificate
  • Bachelor degree Business Administration, Economics or Accountancy.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, and ZICA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years post qualification experience in Risk Management.
  • Should be at least 35 years of Age.
  • Should possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Member of relevant professional body
  • Knowledge of Zambian laws
