SAFE Finance Officer:

Position summary:

The SAFE Finance Officer will be responsible for leading the overall financial and contractual management of finance. She/he will be responsible for managing and providing assistance for finance related to a broad range of financial and administrative needs. He/she will also provide for financial management capacity building within the project. The position requires close collaboration with the Field offices to ensure application CMMB and Donor regulations and policies. She/he will be a primary resource on contract rules and regulations and financial management. This position will report directly to the SAFE- Finance Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the preparation of day to day office accounts including assisting in the periodic review of internal control process and recommend improvements.
  • Will be a known agent at the Bank – This is the purpose of withdrawals and any other banking business as well as maintain cash flow and bank reconciliation statements.
  • Coordinate preparation and filing of monthly financial reports for SAFE Project office and assist with yearly financial forecasting and budget planning.
  • Ensure all procurement is executed according to policies and regulations, including the review of purchase orders, consultant agreements and work orders, expense reports, travel advances, for accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
  • Assist office staff to correctly apply policies, systems, and regulations related to financial management.
  • Review monthly financial reports from all the concerned user departments to ensure financial compliance with CMMB policies, standards, and accuracy.
  • Review financial reports from grantees including support documentation and work with technical officers to ensure programmatic monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist user departments to correctly apply CMMB and Donor policies, systems and regulations related to financial management.
