We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant positions in the Supply Department in Lusaka
SAFETY FACILITATOR- PROJECTS (X1)
Band: IX-A
Contract: Fixed Term Contract
The successful candidate will report to the Projects Lead and will be mainly responsible for the following:
- Aid and champion a world-class HSE culture for all employees, contractors, and subcontractors modeled on VPO requirements.
- Assist project personnel in identifying potential hazards and the appropriate controls to reduce risk to an acceptable level using the Kinney Risk Analysis Methodology.
- Audit contractor safety files against AB-InBev Requirements prior to commencement of works.
- Liaise with ZBS for approval of RAMS for High risk activities such as Roof works, ammonia works and high voltage electrical works.
- Provide dedicated HSE support and subject-matter experts during “major work” – rigging, work at height, hot works, Line Breaking, Confined Space Entry, demolition and excavation operations, major construction operations (including heavy lifts) and major process optimization projects.
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
- Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices (S.A.F.E Campaign), corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
- Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Training and schedule as needed.
- Implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures as per VPO requirement
- Perform site HSE Inspections and ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
- Issuance of appropriate Permit-To-Work for all critical tasks.
- Oversee Behavior-Based / Observation Safety Programs.
- Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records.
- Promote the use of Stop Work Authority, share lessons learned when it is used and reinforce use in regular communications/meetings.
- Assist in the development of internal HSE policies and strategies.
- Implementation of the 5 Golden Rules of Safety.
- Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as SAM/LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
- Assist in the reporting of Monthly Projects KPIs to the Plant and ZBS, investigation of incidents including near misses and at-risk observations as well as assisting in the tracking to closure of open items resulting from the investigations
- Perform audits/inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and Report on HSE statistics.
- Choosing appropriate methods and personal skills so as to educate and mentor personnel.
This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following requirements:-
- Min: Holder of safety management certificate from national occupational and safety association NOSA-RSA.
- Knowledge in risk management, technical safety, implementation of health and safety programme, occupational health and safety programme, occupational health, environmental risk management.
