Head of Sales & Distribution – Individual Life

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Sales & Distribution – Individual Life will be responsible for development of and delivery on the company’s individual life strategy and budget imperatives. The job holder will manage and grow the company’s branch network, and coordinate the sales force to optimize sales and productivity of the channel in line with the company’s goals and objectives.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the individual life strategy and action plan and deliver on key strategy and budget imperatives.
  • Manage sales and optimise productivity of the branch network. Manage the recruitment and oversee the training of Sales Team Leaders and Sales Agents and ensure that teams meet their sales targets. Monitor and evaluate the activities of the Sales Trainees. Agents and Managers.
  • Work with the Chief Commercial Officer to identify new markets opportunities for individual life business.
  • Work with actuarial team and other product houses to ensure that products that are deployed on the market are responsive to emerging customer needs and are compliance to best practice and principles of treating customers fairly.
  • Works closely with the company’s Risk & Compliance Officer to embed a culture of risk management, compliance, andethical business conduct through-out the branch network

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Degree/Diploma in Insurance/Marketing/Business Administration
  • At least 5 years working experience in Senior Life Insurance Sales Management environment with strong evidence of understanding of Insurance principles, products and practices.
  • Strong personal integrity and values-driven work ethic. Strong team player with evidence of growing a high-performing team. Strong leadership and communication skills marked by ability to motivate team members at all levels.
