Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Assistant Manager–
  • IT will ensure effective and efficient Planning, Monitoring, Coordinating and Controlling of the IT department and make sure
  • Sanlam Life Zambia adheres to minimum Group IT Governance standards and enables a sound Business Continuity capability
  • Maintains a sound IT system and ensure policy guidelines pertaining to IT are constantly reviewed and monitored for compliance by all members of staff
  • Designs and maintains information technology procedure manuals and processes for the company
  • Analyses problems with existing applications and designs, develops, tests and implements IT applications and systems as new needs arise in the company
  • Takes a lead role in the design and implementation of data communications, LAN and WAN and assists in determining equipment needs, and maintains a track record of equipment movement
  • Manages and maintains a sound disaster recovery and business continuity program as well as maintaining a sound backup procedure
  • Spearheads management response to audit queries and recommends remedial action and enhancement of controls with regards information technology. Also initiates and maintains contact with IT consultants and support houses

Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/IT related field. O At least 4 years working experience in IT Management and technical support
  • Strong knowledge in Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory administration, Exchange Server, networking, system development and cyberoam
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to discern trends, communication skills (both oral and written), High integrity, Honesty, networking and relationship building skills
  • Management of WAN and LAN environments
  • Project Management and Contract Management skills are an added advantage
