The World Food Programme (WFP) seeks to recruit a qualified, self-motivated and experienced professional to fill the following position:

SBN PROGRAMME ASSISTANT (G5 SERVICE CONTRACT)

Job Purpose:

Based in Lusaka and reporting to the SUN Business Network Manager, the Programme Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the MDT unit in the area of nutrition by assisting the ongoing operations of the Scaling up Nutrition Business Network (SBN), with the aim of increasing Private Sector engagement in the fight against malnutrition.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize innovative SBN networking activities and events
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the MDT unit
  • Maintain communication with the SBN members and stakeholders
  • Keep the SBN database up-to-date with records of events, participants and feedback
  • Ensure that SBN activities are on track by reviewing periodical action plans and coordinating reminders with the team,
  • Work with support functions within WFP to ensure efficient and timely completion of all internal processes required for SBN programs
  • Keep social media platforms such as LinkedIn, etc. updated with insightful and interactive content
  • Collate on-going trends in the private sector markets and nutrition platforms to deliver periodical updates that feed into the action plan for the SBN Manager
  • Maintain an inventory of the SBN publicity materials that supports WFP inventory management system
  • Carry out other tasks, as required, to support the day-to-day activities of WFP’s engagement with the private sector on nutrition in Zambia

Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree in Economics, Commerce, Marketing, or related field
  • 3 years relevant experience in a private company or NGO in Zambia or abroad
  • Practical experience in business/project administration and agribusiness
  • Self-driven; ability to work independently, work under pressure with attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills with proven experience
