Security Officer x 2

Position Location: Ndola & Chilanga

Overall Job Purpose

To supervise security operations around the designated Plant and adjoining business sites, ensuring occupants (employees, contractors and visitors), property, products and other company valuables are secure and accounted for.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Collate and manage databases for security incidents to aid management reporting, trend analysis, emergency evacuations and incident management.
  • Investigate matters of security breaches, emergencies, crime and Staff defalcation affecting the Plant timely ensuring that losses are kept at a minimum.
  • Maintain physical security equipment inventories and manage the frequency of preventative and corrective maintenance having due regard to cost effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supervise subordinates and contracted Guards deployed at the Plant and ensure an acceptable level and quality of response to security related incidents.
  • Design, draft, issue and review Standard Operating Procedures, site instructions and Service Level Agreements for contracted security service providers.
  • Identify and accord sufficient oversight to high risk operations, events and locations within the plant.
  • Manage security issues related to travel risk of international visitors and Group executives.
  • Coordinate the implementation of security processes and infrastructure improvement within acceptable cost structures and in compliance with Group and regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with law enforcement wings and industry partners to ensure emerging security risks with potential to affect the business are identified early and managed.
  • Conduct risk assessments on new business procedures and processes to account for security risk.
  • Track, monitor, authorize and manage physical security costs for contracted physical security service providers.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience/Skills

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree or Diploma in relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in law enforcement or in a corporate security environment.
  • Corporate Security, Law enforcement or equivalent training.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of criminal law.
  • Knowledge of court procedures.
