The Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) invites suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant position:

Senior Logistics Officer( Pharmceutical)

Reporting

The Senior Logistics Officer will work in collaboration with provincial and district health offices and the management of the MSL Hub to support health commodity logistics management activities, with a focus on PMTCT health products, and shall report to the Project Pharmaceutical Technical Advisor

Job Summary

Support the availability, access and use of PMTCT related pharmaceuticals and health products (PHP) in SMACHT Project focus districts and health facilities. The position will contribute to the provision of supportive supervision to lower level health facilities and training of lower level health workers/logistics staff in health facility health product management and rational use

Qualifications and Requirements

  •  A degree in Pharmacy
  •  Knowledge of the Zambia health system especially the Zambia National Supply Chain Strategic Plan
  •  Have solid working knowledge of PMTCT programs and PMTCT drugs
  •  2-3 years experience working in commodities/drug management
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through formal and informal training
  •  Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  •  Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs – Access, Excel. Word and Power Point)
  •  Ability to form relationships and work closely with national and regional/district level health authorities
  •  Good problem-solving, supervisory, coaching and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent data analysis, presentation and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and with team members and partners at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
  • Willingness to locate in Choma, travel extensively throughout the assigned region and to spend extended periods of time in the field.

General Statement

  •  Experience in the Zambian health sector will be an added advantage.
