Senior Warehouse Officer Job in Zambia


The Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) invites suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant position:

Senior Warehouse Officer

CHAZ is participating with the University of Maryland and other partners in a CDC funded project to provide Technical Assistance to Accelerate the Elimination of MTCT of HIV and Improve HIV Free Child Survival to District and Health Facilities in Southern Province. In view of this the Organization seeks for the services of a Senior Warehouse Officer who, following assessments carried out in Southern Province, will render specific stores management support services, and complement MOH/MSL efforts to improve data visibility and performance in distribution of health commodities to health facilities, with specific focus on PMTCT related medicines and laboratory products. The Project will be implemented in Southern Province and the Senior Warehouse Officer will be based at the Choma MSL distribution hub.

Reporting

The Senior Warehouse Officer will work in collaboration with the management of the MSL Hub to support the MOH/MSL in health commodity logistics management activities and shall report to the Project Pharmaceutical Technical Advisor
Job Summary
To support the MSL Regional Distribution Hub to implement regional level logistics activities, support Regional Distribution Hub in logistics and inventory management, support the provision of supportive supervision to lower level health facilities and training of lower level health workers/logistics staff in logistics information management system implementation to create visibility of supply data.

Qualifications and Requirements

  •  Degree in health sciences, health information systems, supply chain management or health systems management
  •  Postgraduate qualification in supply chain, health systems, health information or related field offers an advantage
  •  Minimum of 2 years working experience working with health programs or support systems at the national, regional or community level
  •  Knowledge of the Zambia health system especially the Zambia National Supply Chain Strategic Plan
  •  Ability to form relationships and work closely with Central and Regional level Health authorities
  • Good problem-solving, supervisory, coaching and interpersonal skills
  •  Excellent data analysis, presentation and report writing skills
  •  Excellent computer skills with spreadsheet, word processing and other software, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel
  •  Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with team members and partners at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
  •  Willingness to locate in Choma, travel extensively throughout the assigned region and to spend extended periods of time in the field
  • Capacity to manage numerous tasks, and report in a timely manner

General Statement

  • Experience in the Zambian health sector will be an added advantage.
