The Zambia Information & Communications Technology College Limited (ZICTC) is a Government-owned Technical and Business College registered under the Technical, Educational, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). The college is based in Ndola, and offers locally and internationally accredited professional and academic programmes, and a range of other products and services. Over the past few years, the construction of state-of-the-art infrastructure has coincided with tremendous growth in program offerings and student enrollments. Our plan is to grow even more, and become Zambia’s premier center of ICT training and smart solutions.

We are looking for dedicated and innovative professionals who are change agents, and passionate about making a significant and positive contribution to the education sector in Zambia. If you are such an individual possessing the necessary qualifications and competencies, you are encouraged to apply for one of the following positions:

LECTURERS (8 POSITIONS)

1. Job Purpose: Responsible for teaching and research; and for the development and review of curricula, supervision and marking of assessments and examinations; project supervision, student guidance, consultancy, and community services; and administrative duties that may be assigned.

Core Duties

1. Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.

2. Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a range of platforms.

3. Engaging industry, and collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand the knowledge base, leading to thoroughly equipped graduates.

4. Setting and grading assignments, tests, examinations, and research projects.

5. Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.

6. Participating in the institution’s research commercialization, consultancy, and business development strategies

7. Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.

8. Mentoring and providing support to students and other colleagues.

9. Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.

10. Carry out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programmes and involvement in committees and boards

Core competencies and attributes required

1. Demonstrable expertise in area of specialization

2. Good organizational, communications, interpersonal, networking, analytical and general administrative skills

3. Good emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision

4. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve both your own teaching/research goals and the aims of your Faculty

5. Ability to appropriately utilise ICT applications to support a blended learning approach to education

6. Ability to design, produce and use a range of assessment instruments that are current, reliable, practicable and accessible

LECTURER – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (4 POSITIONS)

Qualifications and experience

1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics

2. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/information Technology

3. Master of Science in Computer Science/information Technology

4. An earned PhD will be an added advantage

5. Evidence of peer-reviewed publications will be an added advantage

6. Specialisation or professional certification in Cyber Security or Software Engineering will be an added advantage

7. At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing IT related courses at College or University level

LECTURER – ENGINEERING (2 POSITIONS)

Qualifications and experience

1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics

2. Bachelor of Science of Engineering

3. Master of Science of Engineering – Electrical/Power

4. An earned PhD will be an added advantage

5. Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage

6. At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing Engineering related courses at College or University level

LECTURER – BUSINESS (2 POSITIONS)

Qualifications and experience

1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics

2. Bachelor of Accountancy or validated ACCA Equivalent

3. Master of Accountancy or validated ACCA Equivalent

4. An earned PhD will be an added advantage

5. Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage

6. At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing Accountancy related courses at College or University level

 

Method of Application

All applicants should submit a typed cover letter of not more than two pages that clearly states the position applied for; the academic and professional qualifications they possess; and the major achievements in their previous and/or current job. Furthermore, the Curriculum vitae should be current, not more than five pages long, clearly state the duration(s) and nature of their past and current work experience; and include at least four traceable referees. Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be communicated to. Furthermore, all shortlisted applicants will be required to present certificates of verification/validation of all their academic and professional qualifications from the Zambia Qualifications Authority during the interviews.
