Social Scientist job in Zambia: ZAMBART


The Zambart is a research focused non-governmental organization that conducts research on HIV and Tuberculosis to help control and mitigate the impact of the dual epidemic. Zambart staff form an interdiscriplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology; Clinical science, laboratory,operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economic, health communication and counseling.

Exciting opportunities have arisen for motivated and organized social scientists at different stages of their career to Join HIV research studies being run by Zambart.

Social Scientist – Adolescent Health

We are also looking for a social scientist to join our social science unit for two years to focus specifically on adolescent health, with a particular focus on adolescents and HIV.The post holder will be part of a bigger team working on social science component of a community randomized trail(Pop ART/HPTN 071) and will be linked to new area of research that looks at adolescent uptake of a universal test and treatment approach by adolescents in 12 community sites. The post will involve analysis of existing data, fieldwork and data management and analysis of newly collected data and working closely with other discipline. The post will involve working closely with the wider PopART team in Zambia and liasing with a social science team in DTTC in South Africa.

Requirements

• A bacherlor’s degree or equivalent qualifications from a recognized academic institution in relation science subject area.
• Research experience in qualitative methodology
• Strong writing and analysis skills
• Previous experience and strong interest in adolescent health
• Positive and professional approach. High organized, able to work independently, use initiative and keep commitment. Ability to follow up and keep deadlines
• Interested to developing a career in public health research
• Fluency in one or more languages spoken in the target communities
