Society for Family Health is recruiting for the position of Human Resources Officer. He/she will help in managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. He/she is responsible for managing the administration of the Human Resources policies, procedures. The HR Officer assists in carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, recruitment, reviews, maintains, updates the HR database, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and other employment-related functions. He/she assists in coordinating the implementation of services and policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains employee database through Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department, in consultation with DHR.
- Advertises staff vacancies, assess applications, participates in interviews, administers selection tests, prepares reports and staff appointments letters.
- Helps in implementing organizational changes such as those following from country legislation, revised job classification structures and technological changes.
- Updates and monitors individual leave days on the HR Database and ensures accurate posting.
- Assists with the implementation of the performance management system that is conducted on a bi-annual basis and/or at the end of a new employee probationary period.
- Ensures the induction/orientation document is up to date.
- Maintains all employee records.
- Prepares data for HR monthly reports and submits to HRD by the last day of each month.
- Keeps record of all performance management processes.
- Co-ordinates activities associated with job description development, recruitments, contracts preparation, disciplinary actions and preparation of orientation programs for new employees in line with SFH established procedures and specific standards.
- Coordinates all human resources activities in the department to ensure accurate interpretation and effective application of all statutory requirements related to human resources.
- Ensures Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident insurance, Workers Compensation Fund and Medical Scheme covers are up to date for all eligible employees
- Takes part in HR strategic management process.
- Ensures that all staff files/records are up to date.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role preferably in a Non-Profit environment.
- Good oral and written communications with the ability to initiate and draft correspondence
- English language fluency required.
- A registered member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management.
