Interpersonal Communications Officer
SFH seeks an experienced individual for the position of IPC Officer who will supervise community outreach demand generation/ community mobilization activities at Grass Root level, conduct supervisory visits to provide on-job coaching, guidance and technical assistance to IPC team and verify field data.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop IPC materials such as flipcharts, fliers, information booklets and referrals.
- Track, and ensure availability of “take away” materials (pamphlets, community take home
- Supervise the field activities of IPC team and provide on the job coaching /technical assistance
- Assist Community Based Educators or HPs in area mapping and drawing of sketch maps of provider’s outlets
- Conduct meetings with community influencers, opinion leaders to get their support and cooperation for smooth implementation of project activities
- Liaise and follow up with SFH – network providers to obtain their support
- Ensure smooth implementation of project activities as per given guidelines/SOPs
- Provide training to IPC team and facilitate them to achieve the organizational objectives
- Ensure compliance of work plans and field presence of IPC team
- Review MIS forms, performance reports and data collected by IPC team and ensure validity and integrity of the data before entering it to MIS
- Ensure timely submission of MIS forms for entry in MIS database
- Compile and analyze performance reports for taking timely decisions for improvement of the process.
- Maintain strong liaison with operational staff for having harmonious working relations in the field and achieving the assigned targets.
- Motivate IPC team by creating conducive atmosphere for open communication and healthy competition.
- Perform any other task(s) assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Required Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Health
- 3 years relevant or related experience
- 2 year’s experience working at community level preferred
- Knowledge of work of health-related community structures
Skills Specification
- Must be a confident communicator and presenter
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
- Superior project management and time management skills
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- Self motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
