The Ministry of Health (MOH) with the support of Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seeks to recruit two suitably qualified and experienced persons to be appointed as Strategic Information Officers. The Duration of the contract is one year renewable based on performance and funding.

Positions Vacant: Strategic Information Officer 

Job Purpose

  • To perform the audit analyses in support of ad-hoc and standing user requests
  • Use the Smartcare application and analytical tools like SAS, SPSS or STATA
  • Evaluate data quality, applications, and functions that produce output
  • Research on new data sources and analytical tools
  • Analysis of health care information obtained from a variety of sources, including Smartcare, HMIS and demographic data

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Demography or Equivalent degree
  • 5years post qualification experience in health related field required. Previous work HIV programming is preferred
  • Experience working with health related data basis i.e District Health Information System two (DHIS2)
  • Skills, Knowledge and qualities
  • Advanced competences in the use of Excel, SAS, STATA or SPSS
  • Ability to write technical and analytical reports
  • Able to work under pressure to specific deadlines, with minimum supervision
  • Must be mature and sober in character
