II. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager Finance and Strategic Planning, The Supervisor ICT will be responsible for preparing short term and long-term plans of the airline Information System in line with the overall goals of the company.

III. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aligns IT objectives and programs to Company objectives and strategies.
  • Establishes general policies and procedures governing activities in IT area of the airline.
  • Establishes strategic service provider partnerships.
  • Aligns IT risk management with Company-wide risk management.
  • Assesses and communicates risks associated with IT investment
  • Optimizes and designs Company processes via IT.
  • Establishes priorities for IT projects and oversee their implementation.
  • Continuously cultivates a corporate culture among the division staff that stimulates teamwork, user satisfaction, integrity and discipline.
  • Defines and adjusts IT standards and technologies.
  • Establishes governance with business process executives.
  • Optimizes costs of services through a mix of internal and external resources.
  • Establishes procedures and control methods necessary for the protection
  • Identifies key technological developments that are likely to have potential strategic benefit to the company, and initiates projects for evaluation and acquisition.
  • Keeps current trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices, advice, and counsel the IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR and other concerned executive management on their competitive and financial advantage.
  • Approves, prioritizes, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Ensures airline IT system operation adheres to applicable law and regulation.
  • Develops the required level of information technology skills at the company level to effectively support the installed systems, and to develop or acquire new systems as required.
  • Manages resource levels across the IT’s divisions to ensure that optimum number of resources are deployed in each area and for each project.
  • Monitors utilization of existing IS in general and initiates improvements when necessary.
  • Ensures that integrity and security of the company central information database is always maintained.
  • Develops, reviews and secures certification of all back up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
  • Co-ordinates the activities of the individual Information Systems departments to ensure that all effort is geared towards achieving the division’s overall objectives.
  • Establishes company infrastructure to support and guide individual divisions, departments and area offices in computing and information technology efforts
  • Develops standards to measure the performance of the Information Systems division and monitors the division performance periodically.
  • Directs the development of integrated Management Information Systems at different levels.
  • Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor

IV. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in I.T or relevant field of studies
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airlines ICT or related areas with at least 2 years’ management experience as Supervisor or equivalent level.
