The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to preventing pediatric HIV infection and eliminating pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention, care, and treatment programs. Founded in 1988, EGPAF supports activities in 19 countries around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and ensure appropriate storage and transportation  services for POCEID commodities
  • Develop a framework and implementation plan for the supply of POCEID commodities to all UNITAID project sites throughout the life of the project, with guidance and support from the UNITAID global procurement Lead
  • Be well versed and a resource to the UNITAID project team in Government and Ministry of Health guidelines and regulations for the supply chain management of Laboratory commodities
  • Oversee the importation of POCEID commodities in keeping with Government  and Ministry of Health Laws, rules and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Maintain a complete and accurate inventory database to accurately track UNITAID project POCEID commodities
  • Coordinate and oversee orders and distribution of POCEID commodities for all UNITAID project sites
  • First respond to equipment malfunctions in all UNITAID project sites
  • oversee and ensure adequate training is provided to end users of POCEID platforms in all UNITAID project sites
  • Provide laboratory logistics training for POCEID commodities in selected POCEID implementing sites
  • Oversee the gradual transition of POCEID products into the national supply chain management system for laboratory commodities by the end of the UNITAID project

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in the health sciences or a relevant/related field
  • Certification in supply chain management, logistics, transportation and/or distribution will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of three years experience working on supply chain management programs
  • Experience in maintenance of biomedical equipment
  • Experience in working with Government officials and stakeholders in the HIV/AIDS sector

Other Attributes

  • Knowledge of National Logistics systems for HIV/AIDS commodities
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS service delivery in the public health sector, more especially in the areas of eMTCT and pediatric HIV
  • Proven supply chain management and logistics skills
  • Strong computer literacy, especially excel skills and ability to learn new databases
  • Outstanding organisational and coordination skills
  • Ability to communicate with a range  of colleagues across diverse countries and cultures
