The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution owned by the two Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia on a 50/50 shareholding basis. Incorporated by the Acts of Parliament of the two contracting states, the Authority’s registered office is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with two regional administrative centres in Mpika, Zambia and Dar es Salaam.

Some positions have fallen vacant and, in this regard, applications are invited from suitably qualified Zambians,  as follows.

Job Summary

Main Duties

  • The Marketing Manager formulates, directs and controls marketing systems in order to sustain TAZARA operations and enable the Authority to meet its profit goals and objectives.
  •  Formulates, reviews and controls short and long-term marketing plans to meet the needs of customers and the Authority;
  • Develops and implements suitable tariff structures in order to enhance the Authority’s earnings;
  • Reviews marketing policies in order to determine their effectiveness and as a way of responding to changing market situations;
  • Directs the development of policies for monitoring freight and passenger services performance of the Cost and Profits Centres;
  • Motivates and promotes a positive attitude to work among employees, particularly those under own umbrella;
    Prepares annual budgets and ensures that the department operates within the approved allocations.

Qualifications

  •  Grade 12 School Certificate
  •  A Degree in Marketing or Business Administration
  • Five years’ experience at senior officer level
  • Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing
  • Not more than 45 years old
