IMA World Health is a non-profit, faith-based organization that that offers extensive expertise implementing programmes to address integrated health systems strengthening, maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, malaria, HIV, non-communicable diseases, and sexual and gender based violence programmes in some of the most challenging and post-conflict settings throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. IMA maintains a diverse and complex funding portfolio made up of both grants and contracts that support programme services across those countries and totals approximately $100 million annually.

IMA is currently seeking candidates for Team Leader position for a programme to scale up the provision of nutrition services to reach as many children under two years and pregnant and lactating mothers in districts with high levels of stunting. The anticipated DFID-funded five year programme in Zambia will support the Ministry of Health (MOH) to:

  • Support interventions to build knowledge, change attitudes, strengthen practice and expand services in order to prevent low birth weight and stunting, 2) strengthen delivery at district level and to build relevant institutional capacity for effective coordination,
  • Srengthen delivery at district level and to build relevant institutional capacity for effective coordination, planning and programming, 3) improve communications and advocacy for increased services uptake, and  4) to support domestic resource mobilization, research, monitoring and evaluation of the multi-sectoral nutrition response to address stunting.

    The Team Leader will provide overall leadership, management, and oversight for all programme activities and staff in accordance with donor guidelines. The Team Leader will report directly to the Senior Technical Director of Programmes at IMA. S/he will liaise regularly with key stakeholders representing the programme, including assigned DFID in-country technical advisors and other staff, Government of Zambia relevant Ministry stakeholders, and to civil society networks.
