Technical Director and Malaria Specialist: University Research Co., LLC (URC) Zimbawe Job

University Research Co., LLC (URC) was established in 1965, and offers a range of technical assistance to strengthen health and social systems and service quality by empowering communities and health workers to identify and scale up locally appropriate solutions to critical problems. URC is currently seeking candidates for an upcoming USAID Zimbabwe Assistance Program in Malaria. This five-year project will support the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) to strengthen malaria prevention and case management activities at national, provincial, district, and/or community levels.

Job Title: Technical Director and Malaria Specialist

The Technical Director will provide support to the COP in the strategic vision and technical leadership of program activities. This will include workplan design; program implementation; monitoring and evaluation support; along with liaising, with Ministry, NMCP, and USAID officials.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

Advanced degree in international public health, biological sciences, environmental sciences, entomology, or other related field; Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing malaria projects in sub-Saharan Africa (experience in Zimbabwe preferred); Demonstrated knowledge of Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI) and procedures pertaining to activity design/implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
