Job Description

ZCAS University is seeking to recruit Senior Lecturers to teach in the following fields at the postgraduate level:

  1. Accountancy
  2. Banking and Finance
  3. Business Administration
  4. Development Finance
  5. Economics
  6. Human Resource Management
  7. ICT
  8. Law
  9. Education
  10. Marketing
  11. Monitoring & Evaluation
  12. Project Management
  13. Supply Chain Management

PURPOSE: The Senior Lecturers shall be responsible for teaching, conducting research and
carrying out other academic related tasks in the relevant field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide guidance/mentorship to other members of staff in developing their capacity in
    teaching and research;
  2. Contribute to the development of research agendas and securing research grants in
    departments and schools;
  3. Contribute to curriculum development and implementation in departments and schools;
  4. Contribute to external bodies including research councils, international
    organizations, professional bodies, and societies;
  5. Supervise students’ research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and
  6. Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and learning methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five credits including English and Mathematics
    or equivalent;
  2. An earned Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with at least a Merit from a
    registered/accredited university;
  3. An earned Master’s degree in the same or related field as the Bachelor’s degree from a
    registered/accredited university;
  4. An earned Doctorate degree in the same or related field as the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
    from a registered/accredited university;
  5. At least five years teaching/research/industry experience in higher
    education/research institute/industry;
  6. At least ten peer-reviewed publications in recognized outlets in the field of
    specialization;
  7. Teaching Methodology qualification; and
  8. Computer literate.

ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCES

An expert in the field of specialization evidenced by:

  1. A record of publications and award of research grants;
  2. Successful supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate research students; and
  3. Significant contribution to teaching, research, university life, and public service.
