Job Description

 

ZCAS University is seeking to recruit an Associate Professor to teach in the following fields at the postgraduate level:

1. Accountancy
2. Banking and Finance
3. Business Administration
4. Development Finance
5. Economics
6. Human Resource Management
7. ICT
8. Law
9. Education
10. Marketing
11. Monitoring & Evaluation
12. Project Management
13. Supply Chain Management

PURPOSE: The Associate Professor shall be responsible for teaching, conducting research, public
service and carrying out other academic-related tasks in the relevant field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide academic guidance and mentorship to other members of staff;
2. Facilitate development or research agendas/projects and innovation;
3. Provide leadership in securing research grants in departments and schools;
4. Supervise higher degrees and postdoctoral research;
5. Provide leadership in curriculum development and implementation in departments and schools;
6. Foster development of innovative teaching and learning methods;
7. Facilitate the development and review of instructional resources;
8. Promote the image of the university through public/community engagement,
   involvement in professional bodies and presentations at national and international
   conferences;
9. Contribute to management and leadership of the University through committee
   membership and policy development; and
10. Facilitate the development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies in departments
    and schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five credits including English
   and Mathematics or equivalent;
2. An earned Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with at least a Merit from a
   registered/accredited university;
3.  An earned Master’s degree in the same or related field as the Bachelor’s degree from a
   registered/accredited university;
4. An earned Doctorate degree in the same or related field as the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
   from a registered/accredited university;
5. At least 8 years teaching/research/industry experience in higher
   education/research institution/industry;
6. At least 15 peer-reviewed publications in recognized outlets in the field of
   specialization;
7. Teaching Methodology qualification; and
8. Computer literate.

ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCES

1. An authority in the field of specialization with a distinguished record of research and
   scholarly publications in reputable/high impact factor journals;
2. Demonstrated ability to attract competitive research grants;
3. A recognized scholar who attracts research students;
4. Demonstrated ability to supervise Masters and Doctoral students;
5. Notable ability in teaching and training;
6. Demonstrated academic leadership; and
7. Notable ability to provide public/community service.
