Tongabezi Trust School is an Independent School with over 270 children from Pre School to Grade 9. We offer high-quality education and co-curricular activities to vulnerable children within the rural community on the outskirts of Livingstone. The school follows the Zambian National Curriculum together with influences from overseas. The Vision of the school is to develop independent learners who have the skills to make informed decisions about their lives; their future and the world they live in so as to fully utilize available opportunities.

Visual Art Teacher

Required for May 2018

We require a dynamic, multi-talented and skillful teacher of Art to successfully lead our Art and Design department and be a driving force in the establishment of the Tongabezi Art Centre project initiative. The school is embarking on a new project to expand and upgrade their Visual Arts programme in 2019 to build a new Art Centre. We require a committed, driven and independent person to conceptualize, design and ultimately run our new programme.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Must possess a relevant teaching degree or diploma
  • Must have excellent ICT and social media skills
  • The applicant must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia
  • For this position, strong leadership and team-building skills are essential
  • Experience of teaching a wide range of classes at both primary and secondary levels
  • Experience in working in Art galleries, running workshops and community-based projects preferred
