Trainee Fund Accountant Wanted at Altus Capital – September 2017


Altus Capital Limited is a financial services provider offering wealth and investment management services. Our products and services include personal financial planning (wills, trusts, insurance and retirement planning) and fund management.

The Company is searching for a candidate to join the team as a Trainee Fund Accountant. We are looking for an individual who communicates well, is detail-oriented, and able to work in an environment with daily targets. The successful candidate will assist with the daily unitholder trading activity and valuations, compliance and controls.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily preparation of portfolio valuations and maintenance of the underlying accounting records (recons and regulatory requirements) for assigned funds;
  • Perform daily accounting, transaction and administrative functions for our Funds
  • Maintain client/unit-holder records
  • Liaising with fund managers, brokers, and custodians to communicate information and resolve issues on a timely basis;
  • Reconciling broker and custodian accounts to underlying records;
  • Preparing and maintaining standard operating procedures;
  • Establishing excellent client relationships and providing high quality service and productivity;
  • Assisting the external auditors to ensure the audit function is executed on a timely and efficient basis and
  • Performing any additional responsibilities that may be required by your Supervisor in support of the on-going management and development of the division.

Skills / experience requirements

  • CIMA/ACCA/Accounting degree
  • Proficient in MS Excel;
  • 1-2 years experience in Investment management industry would be a distinct advantage;
  • Candidates to be no older than 25 years old;
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Structured and detail oriented;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines and
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
