A company in Ndola with a fleet of trucks is looking for the position of Supply Chain Manager, to be in charge with customer management, supply management, and forwarding aspect of the business. below is the job description.

Job Description

  • Monitor supplier performance to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.
  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors.
  • Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
  • Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
  • Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.

Design or implement strategies for the supply chain management.

  • Confer with sales to forecast demand or create supply chain plans that ensure the availability of materials or products.
  • Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
  • Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve the tracking and reporting of products, distribution, storage, or inventory.
  • Managers stock movement in conjunction with marketing plans
  • Coordinate resources planning in such a way as to secure the right stock at the right time
  • Maintains the supply of inventory in line with business forecast, stock norms, and logistics costs
  • Understands and addresses customer problems to improve services to the customer
  • Drives simplification with commercial teams and ensures procedures are implemented and followed
  • Operational processes
  • Build dashboards, measures and share performance and communicate to all stakeholders to ensure the right business decisions are taken
  • Ensure the right competencies in the team to respond to changing customer needs
  • Ensure right coordinates with regional teams to ensure the right level of supply
