EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Tropical Diseases Research Centre is a National Health Research Institution established by Act of parliament No. 31 of 1982 under the ministry of health. The Centre is mandated to conduct research and training in Tropical Diseases and other diseases of national health importance such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis and other Opportunistic infections.

The Centre has continued to embrace a multi-disciplinary team of experts including medical scientific and non-medical staff to execute its functions in order to fulfil its mandate.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons who are self-motivated and result-oriented to fill the following vacancy;

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
• Full ACCA/CIMA
• Master of Business Administration-Finance will be an added advantage
• A minimum of five years experience in a similar position
• Competent in both Financial and Treasury Management
• Computer literate with strong ability in use of accounting packages including Pastel
• Must be a fully paid-up member of ZICA

Main Duties

• To manage all GRZ and Donor funds in the Centre and to ensure adherence to financial guidelines
• To prepare daily and monthly cash flow forecast to ensure payments are within the plan.
• To prepare quarterly accounts for the consideration of Board Members
• To coordinate and consolidate departmental budget submissions and produce institutional budgets.
• To arrange for year-end financial audits, coordinate provision of responses to queries and ensure timely completion of audits.
• To supervise and review Accountants’ work.
• To ensure adherence to statutory obligations
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned to him/her from time to time.
