Job Title: Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Specialist (QA/QI)

Location: Lusaka with some travel

Responsibilities:

Provide technical assistance and mentorship to supported district and health facility staff together with the University of Maryland field office QA/QI staff in the following:

• Participation in the provincial QA/QI activities
• The development of district and facility annual quality management and quality improvement plans
• The promotion of evidence-based decision-making for service delivery improvement through the enhancement of data demand, utilization and service performance tracking
• On a quarterly basis visit districts and selected facilities to strengthen the implementation of QA/QI interventions
• Provide direction and support to University of Maryland QA/QI staff in the implementation of the QA/QI activities to districts and facilities including the following:
  • Planning evidence-based technical assistance visits by monitoring program and patient level outcomes and presenting findings to University of Maryland project staff
  • Reviewing technical support visits and providing feedback to project staff
• Maintains thorough documentation of outcomes of QA/QI implementation and shares results when requested to the University of Maryland staff and at other platforms
• Maintains thorough documentation of deliverables of University of Maryland QA/QI staff and provides regular feedback to the QA/QI staff
• Provides QA/QI support to staff in the different service areas supported by the University of Maryland
• Represents the University of Maryland at the national QA/QI Technical Working Group and at donor led platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, an added advantage
• Three (3) years’ experience HIV Care and Treatment
• Experience in QA/QI is an added advantage
• Knowledge in Microsoft software and other data analysis packages as an added advantage
